What are Whisteblower systems
Since July 2, 2023, the Whistleblower Protection Act has already been in force for companies with 250 or more employees. The law requires companies to set up and operate an internal reporting point to receive tips from employees about criminal offenses, numerous administrative offenses, and against various other violations at federal and state level. The catalog of reportable violations is extensive. Now, on Dec. 17, 2023, the second stage of the Whistleblower Protection Act will come into force: then even smaller companies with 50 to 249 employees will have to set up and operate a reporting office. And as of December 1, 2023, it will already be an administrative offense if obligated companies have not set up and operate a reporting office. A violation can be punished with a fine of up to EUR 20,000.The alternative is to outsource the internal reporting office to an external service provider. For this purpose, we have developed the Tsambikakis whistleblower system, which we have been operating successfully since 2021.
