What is Medical Criminal Law
Medical Criminal Law comprises all criminal offences in the Health Care Sector. This includes service providers (hospitals, resident doctors, pharmacies, therapists etc.), as well as the medical device and pharmaceutical industry. The field encompasses a wide variety of offences, from fraud in connection with medical fees and corruption in the health care sector all the way to offences against physical integrity and capital offences.
Additionally, the field includes possible criminal offences stipulated by the Medical Devices Act (Medizinproduktegesetz – MPG), the Medical Drugs Act (Arzneimittelgesetz – AMG) and the German Narcotics Act (Betäubungsmittelgesetz – BtMG). Our attorneys have defended clients and provided counsel at the intersection of the health care sector and criminal law for many years. Due to our considerable experience from working in the health care sector, we do not only know the legal problems, but also the coordination processes and operational procedures of the industry. The knowledge and experience in both fields is what sets us apart from our competitors – no matter whether you are looking for criminal defence or for preventive compliance counselling.
