What is Criminal Gambling Law
Gambling, like lotteries, online-casinos or sports betting are becoming increasingly popular in Germany. The requirements for permissible gambling are essentially regulated by the State Treaty on Gambling in Germany (Staatsvertrag zum Glücksspiel in Deutschland – GlüStV) and the Race Betting and Lotteries Act (Rennwett- und Lotteriegesetz – RennwLottG).Criminal Gambling Law accompanies these requirements by imposing penalties not only for offering and brokering illegal gambling, but also for advertising it. Even the player may be criminally liable for participation in illegal gambling.
