What is International Criminal Law

In times of open borders in Europe and, above all, in a globalised economy, we, voluntarily or involuntarily, come into contact with foreign legal regimes – in case of alleged criminal offences, this includes foreign criminal law. In all cases with foreign connections, questions of mutual legal assistance arise, which are regulated in a complex manner internationally – on a European level multinationally – and in bilateral agreements.

Particular difficulties are faced when dealing with arrest warrants and extradition. The prosecution by US authorities, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which may assume its jurisdiction based on very little suspicious indications, is particularly dreaded. A consultant from abroad is of little help if his standards are not compatible with those of the German authorities and courts. This is where we come into the picture: we have a basic understanding of the foreign legal system and help you, taking into account the consequences abroad and especially in Germany.
